March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and innovation of women across industries. As a women owned business, this month holds a special place in our hearts at Spread The Love Foods. It’s not just about recognition, it’s about honoring the journeys, challenges, and wins that come with building something from the ground up.
From kitchen-table ideas to full-scale brands, women entrepreneurs are redefining what it means to lead, create, and inspire. Today, we’re sharing our story, celebrating our growth, and highlighting other incredible women-owned businesses we admire.
The Heart Behind Our Women Owned Business
Spread The Love was co-founded by Val Fishbain, whose journey is deeply rooted in resilience, purpose, and passion.
Val was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States at just 15 years old with her mother and sister, chasing the dream of a better life. Her early career was dedicated to helping others, working with children with developmental challenges and supporting families through Los Angeles County Child Protective Services.
But like many founders of a women owned business, her path evolved from a deeply personal place.
As a mother, Val wanted healthier, cleaner food options for her family. What started as a simple mission in her home kitchen soon grew into something much bigger: Spread The Love.
Together with her husband Zach, Val built a brand centered on clean ingredients, nourishing products, and purpose-driven impact. Today, that same mission continues through every jar we produce, and through initiatives like the Spread The Love Forward Scholarship, which gives back to the community and supports future changemakers.
Val is also a proud mom of two daughters, continuing to lead by example, showing them what’s possible when passion meets perseverance.
Celebrating Our Wins
As a growing women owned business, we’re incredibly grateful for the milestones we’ve achieved, and the recognition that helps amplify our mission.
We were recently featured in a Coupang article highlighting our journey and commitment to quality and community. 👉 Read more here: https://www.aboutcoupang.com/English/news/news-details/2026/spread-the-love/
We were also honored to be featured by Amazon Small Business, celebrating women entrepreneurs during Women’s History Month. Their message perfectly captures what this journey means:
“From her home kitchen to yours 🥜✨ Val Fishbain co-founded Spread The Love because she wanted healthier options for her kids—and turned that mom-moment into a thriving family business… This Women's History Month, we're celebrating women entrepreneurs who start with an idea and turn it into something beautiful.”
Moments like these remind us why we started, and why we keep going.
Why Supporting Women Owned Businesses Matters
When you support a women owned business, you’re doing more than making a purchase, you’re investing in:
- Economic empowerment
- Gender equality in entrepreneurship
- Community-driven innovation
- Future generations of women leaders
Studies show that women reinvest more into their communities and families, creating a ripple effect of positive impact. Supporting women owned brands helps level the playing field and encourages more women to pursue their ideas with confidence.
Whether it’s buying a product, sharing a brand, or simply telling a friend, every action contributes to a larger movement.
