Spreading the love forward

We know it's not officially summer yet, but it basically feels like it since the Memorial Weekend. We've just been enjoying summer activities like swimming, museum-hopping and outdoor music concerts in this beautiful not-too-hot (yet) weather. We're so grateful for times like these when we can just enjoy life and be with our loved ones with little-to-no worries. We are aware that many of us in this world and even in our own community do not have the same privileges. Some don't even have basic necessities like food and shelter. Everyday, we see homeless brothers and sisters living in tents as we walk in our neighborhood in Los Angeles. We understand that this is a complex problem without an easy fix. However, we decided to be a part of the solution.

This month of June, we started partnerships with two organizations that give back to the community. One of these organizations is Eat Love Give, an online marketplace that supports small businesses and donates to different charities every month. We are definitely inspired with what they're doing and very happy to call them our partner. We think it's safe to say that the feelings are mutual between us as they recently wrote about us on their blog and made their 8th donation to our other partner, which is PATH. PATH stands for People Assisting the Homeless. Their mission is to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities, by building affordable housing and providing supportive services throughout California. We have been touched by this organization's work since 2011 when we became volunteer cooks for one of their residential facilities. Since then, we've always known that this is the kind of public service we want to provide to our community. We want to cook and feed those who need it most. As we speak, we are planning an ambitious fundraising event to help them raise money for their MAKING IT HOME campaign. Our family is also attending their volunteer day event on June 30th so we can get our little kiddos involved in their beautiful work. We hope you check these awesome organizations out and follow along on our journey to establishing our give-back initiative that truly spreads the love forward.
